When you change your relationship with money
you change your life.
I’m here to show you how.
Hi, I’m Linda Brown, the Money Guru. I help you get out of fear and overwhelm with your business finances and into ease and abundance. It’s time to uplevel your business and your life.
I got my first lucky break as my own boss when I was four years old. I played ‘Office’ with by siblings and took calls on my Playskool phone. My activity center was the busy switchboard, complete with accompanying flashing lights.
By sixth grade, I was helping my mother do bank reconciliation for her clients. Kinda crazy, I know, but I loved it! My leadership and organizational skills emerged at a young age:) Even back then, I knew I wanted to be my own boss! And with a banker and an accountant for parents, well let’s say we talked about money. A lot.
I took the traditional path and after graduating, tackled the corporate ladder in the world of financial services. Taking my four years of college debt with me.
I’ve always been confident in conversations around money.
But I soon realized, not everyone is. Maybe you feel that too?
With finances and women in business, I see two types of women entrepreneurs. First, there’s the Candid One. She lays it all out there, quite confidently (even if she doesn’t feel it), regardless of how good the figures are. And she’s happy to discuss her finances and the ebb and flow of money in her business.
Then there’s Coy One. She becomes quiet and retreats when the money conversation starts. And says as little as possible for fear she may say something stupid. She’s not stupid of courses, she simply finds the whole money thing a little uncomfortable and/or extremely boring.
Whether you are the Candid or the Coy, or a mix of both, it’s time to release limiting money beliefs that are holding you back and step into a more confident you, in control of your finances. It’s time to create big impact and income in your life.
Money is a tool and an enabler. It helps you live a life of joy, fulfillment and adventure. But for a long time I didn’t see this. I saw it purely as a transaction and even felt selfish for wanting more.
Yes I had my student loan payed off within two years and reached my six figure salary goal in my corporate career. But I was totally disconnected from my life and my passions. I wasn’t happy and my relationship with money wasn’t a healthy one.
What had gone wrong? I studied hard. I worked hard. I paid my bills. I saved for things we needed. But it all felt so… hard. And where had the fun gone?
It took plenty of reflection and a lot of soul searching to realize my own money story was holding me back. In all my seriousness and strict work ethic I had capped my own income. I had put limits on what I thought I could make, what I needed it for and how I spent it.
So I dropped the guilt and started working in a way that excited me!
I quit corporate and started my own business, empowering women to understand their finances gain control of their money.
During my 14 years in Corporate America I developed financial systems that have since been adapted by numerous successful companies and entrepreneurs.
My purpose is to teach you these very systems, skills and money mindset, so you too can be financially free.
Don’t get me wrong, taking action is essential for your success. But burnout and stressing out about finances isn’t how it’s supposed to be.
