It’s a quick read filled with a lot of valuable information. If you are a Home Stager, there are two sections to pay close attention to:
- Bundling your services (design, staging, destaging, and moving) with the furniture and decor that you place in the dwelling. Most states charge sales tax on the purchase or rental of tangible goods (the staged furniture and decor), while services are exempt from sales taxes.
- Where the sale occurred. In most instances, the sale is considered to take place and the taxes are due to the city/county/state of the staged property.
